How did Paperlust come to be? It all started in 2016. We were tired of seeing young designers not being able to get their work seen and sold. At the time, sites were popping up and devaluing the process of graphic design, owner James Boston recounts. We have bootstrapped Paperlust without any external funding and built Australia's first print marketplace where designers earn commission off every sale.
When asked what he loves about having Paperlust around, James has this to say: Having a creative business is incredibly rewarding in a lot of ways, however, my favourite thing is we produce high-quality printed products right here in Australia and send them around the world. Most of our designs are made by Australian designers too, so it is really cool that we are exporting local designs and locally-produced product all over the world.
PackQueen helps the business with its satchels like the Express Post Medium and Express Post Large, both in White and the A4 Multi Crease Boxes in Brown.
We use PackQueen for our express boxes, custom-printed tissue paper and kraft wrapping paper. The boxes are great as they protect our products from damage even if we are sending them all the way to New York, James replies when asked about PackQueen's role in the company. The custom tissue paper is part of our unboxing experience and important for our brand and the kraft wrapping paper is used as an added layer of protection for our larger shipments. We don't use any plastic in our shipping, including wrap and fill, as we want all of our packaging to be recycled by our customers and PackQueen's products fit the bill perfectly.
