Meet: Art by Leanne WB
Art by Leanne WB is an Australian art business celebrating the beauty of native birdlife through detailed coloured pencil drawings and vibrant acrylic paintings. Inspired by the birds that visit her own garden and Australia's incredible wildlife, Leanne creates original artworks that capture the character and charm of each feathered subject, while also offering custom pet bird commissions.
About the Business
Art by Leanne WB combines a love of art with a lifelong fascination for Australian birds. Working primarily in coloured pencils and acrylics, Leanne creates highly detailed artworks inspired by the native birds she encounters every day, as well as species from across the country.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the business is the constant opportunity to learn. From discovering more about Australia's unique birdlife to refining artistic techniques and exploring new materials, every piece is part of an ongoing creative journey. While turning a personal passion into a business has come with its challenges, embracing the learning process and finding the confidence to share her work with the public has been an important milestone in building the brand.

Q&A With Art by Leanne WB
What does your business sell?
I am an Australian artist working in coloured pencils and acrylic paint. My focus is birds. I love to paint and draw the birds I see in my own garden and all Australian birds (and the occasional pet bird on request)
What do you love most about your business?
I am constantly learning. Learning new information about birds and learning more about the materials I use to create my art. I love the freedom to explore my own interests and learn new things along the way.
What challenges has your business faced?
Trying to turn my interest in art and birds into a "business" is still something I am working towards. I am still at the beginning and I am learning by doing. Finding the confidence to put my art out to the public was the first challenge I had to overcome.
How has PackQueen helped your business?
I wanted a packing solution for small artworks that provided some protection but was also in keeping with my design aesthetic at markets. I found the solution I was looking for with drawstring calico bags. They provide a protective dust bag for my small paintings but also make an excellent reusable gift bag. They allow me to easily include (and store) the authenticity certificate for each painting and elevate the presentation when presenting the sold artwork.
