Why it matters

Handmade pieces can't be replaced.

A broken mug is a lost sale, a lost piece of work and an unhappy customer.

🛡️

Protects every piece

Wrapping and filler stop ceramics knocking against each other or the box.

💸

Saves time on claims

Good packing reduces breakages, refunds and courier claims.

🎁

Shows your care

Neat, natural wrapping reflects the craft that went into the piece.

What to look for

What ceramics packaging must do.

Ceramics packaging has to absorb knocks and stop any movement.

✓

Wrap every piece

Each piece needs its own layer of honeycomb paper or bubble wrap.

✓

Room to cushion

Allow 10–20mm per side between the wrapped piece and the box.

✓

Fill every gap

Filler should stop the piece moving when the box is shaken.

✓

A strong box

Heavier pieces and sets need a stronger board.

✓

Separate pieces

Never let ceramics touch each other inside the box.

Buying guide

Tips from packaging experts.

Practical advice for potters and ceramicists.

Fill hollow pieces

Stuff mugs, vases and bowls with paper so they're supported from the inside too.

Wrap handles and spouts

Handles and spouts are the first to break. Give them an extra layer.

Do the shake test

If anything moves when you gently shake the box, add more filler.

Use the wrapped setting

In our box size calculator, choose the wrapped option to allow room for cushioning.

How do I ship ceramics without them breaking?
Wrap each piece in honeycomb paper or bubble wrap, pack it in a strong box with 10–20mm of room on every side, and fill every gap so nothing moves.
Is honeycomb paper good for ceramics?
Yes. Honeycomb paper grips and cushions each piece and is a popular plastic-free option.
What is double boxing?
Double boxing means packing the wrapped item in one box, then placing that box inside a larger box with more filler. It's ideal for very fragile pieces.
What size box do I need?
Use our box size calculator and choose the wrapped option to find boxes with room for cushioning.
How do I pack a dinner set?
Wrap every piece separately, put cardboard between plates, and use a super strong box for the extra weight.
Do you deliver Australia-wide?
Yes, we deliver Australia-wide. Stock orders typically dispatch within 1–3 business days, and we offer Click & Collect from Thomastown, VIC.
