Board grades
Which board do I need?
The heavier or more fragile your product, the stronger the board.
B Flute
Single wall board, about 3 mm thick. Good for light products, books, clothing and smaller cartons.
C Flute
Single wall board, about 4 mm thick. Our everyday shipping grade, with more cushioning and stacking strength.
BC Flute
Double wall board, about 7 mm thick. For heavy, bulky or fragile goods, and cartons that get stacked.

Should I give inside or outside measurements?
Inside measurements. Measure the space your product needs (length × width × height) and allow a little extra for padding. You can enter them in millimetres or centimetres, and we’ll always quote in millimetres.
Is there a set-up cost?
There’s no set-up cost for plain custom boxes. Printed boxes have a one-off printing plate cost, which is included in your quote.
How long do custom shipping boxes take?
Plain boxes take 5–10 work days. Printed boxes take 10–15 work days on the first run and 5–10 work days on repeat orders. Custom samples take 5–7 work days.
Can I get a sample first?
Yes. Tick “I’d like a custom sample first” in the quote form. Custom samples take 5–7 work days.
Which board grade should I choose?
B Flute (Regular) suits light products, C Flute (Strong) is our everyday shipping grade, and BC Flute (Super Strong) is double wall for heavy or fragile goods. If you’re not sure, choose “Not sure” and tell us what you’re packing.
What printing can you do?
One or two colours, on one panel or on the two main panels (the long sides). Send your logo with your quote request and we’ll check it before anything is printed.
What are hand holds?
Cut-out handles in the sides of the box that make heavier cartons easier to lift. You can have them on the length sides or the width sides. Additional set-up charges apply for hand holds, and we include them in your quote.
