How Do You Wrap a Gift Nicely?

Whether you’re wrapping luxury gifts for loved ones or commercial gifts for your clients, presentation is key. Unfortunately, we’re not all blessed with the art of present wrapping. So, to make sure it doesn’t look like you wrapped your presents in the dark while wearing mittens, keep these gifting tips in mind: 

1. Place it in a box or bag

Presents are much easier to wrap if they are boxed or bagged. So, if you’re wrapping bottles, clothing, or anything else that could prove challenging, put it in a gift box or bag first.

Don’t worry if there is extra space—that’s why tissue paper and shredded packing paper exist.

2. Lay out the wrapping paper

Stretch out some wrapping paper on a hard, flat surface. Use more than you need and don’t cut it from the roll just yet.

If you’re using a gift bag, you can probably skip to step 5.

3. Prepare and cut

Place the present in the middle, fold over the paper, and make sure you will have enough. When folded over the top of the box, the sides should overlap. 

Now is the time to cut the paper.

4. Fold and seal

Fold over one side of the paper and seal it with tape. As you’re using a box, you can just seal the tape to the box itself.

Repeat with the other side.

For the ends, simply press the sides down until you have flat horizontal folds on two opposing sides with triangle-shaped folds on the other sides.

Seal the ends with tape and then fold over and seal the triangle folds.

5. Add the finishing touches

You now have a fully wrapped present! Finish it off with some ribbon or a gift tag. If you have something to say, write a little message to add a personal touch.

It’s now ready to be handed over.
